Pediatricians from Louisville visited Perm.

Nine medical doctors from Perm's Sister City Louisville spent a week working in different Perm hospitals. Dr. George Rodgers, Assistant Professor of the University of Louisville, said that he tried to meet the interests of Perm medical community expressed last year and built a group of doctors with expertise in neonatology, nephrology and pediatric surgery. During the last week Louisville doctors discussed most difficult cases with their colleagues in Perm and gave lectures to Perm medical doctors. Pediatric surgeons - Dr. Bradley Rodgers from the University of Virginia and Dr. David Foley from the University of Louisville also had some interactions with Perm surgeons in operating rooms. Dr. Dan Stewart, who directs the UofL program in neonatology, and Dr. Scott Duncan proposed to hold a symposium on neonatal problems in Perm taking into account that they already have strong connections with Perm neonatologists. Dr. Tim Allen represented Sister Cities of Louisville and Healing the Children - the two organizations which initiated this exchange program in health care two years ago.

Louisville and Perm pediatricians expressed willingness to continue collaboration and to work out a comprehensive program for several years ahead.
